How do shoppers open and see the wishlist?
Wishlist Hero can show the wishlist as a popup window on the current page or as a dedicated page. This page documents both modes, the popup size options, and what shoppers see inside the wishlist either way. The mode is set in Customize Wishlist Appearance, under the wishlist display section.
The two display modes
| Mode | Shopper experience | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Popup window (default) | The wishlist opens over the current page; the shopper never leaves the product | Keeping shoppers in the browsing flow |
| Separate page | Clicking a launch point opens the full wishlist page | Stores that want a URL to link from menus and campaigns |
Choose the mode under Display the Wishlist module as. With the popup mode, Choose pop-up size offers Regular, Larger, and Extra Large.
Inside the wishlist
Whether popup or page, each product card shows:
- Product image, name, and current price
- The date the item was added, shown as “added on”
- An Add to cart button, unless you hid it
- A remove control
Above the grid sit the list level actions: Add All to Cart and Remove All, each with a confirmation step. Out of stock products are detected automatically: their add to cart button disables and reads OUT OF STOCK.
Card text styles follow the fonts and colors you set in the button details section. See Button settings.
Open the wishlist from anywhere
The popup opens from your enabled launch points: the header icon, the floating button, or a menu link using the #hero-wishlist anchor. The page mode opens the wishlist page path. Both are covered in Launch point settings and Link the wishlist.
Switching modes later
Changing the mode is safe: the same wishlist shows in either shape, and shoppers keep their items. If you switch to the separate page, add the page link to your navigation so the wishlist stays reachable. See Link the wishlist.
