How do I link shoppers to the wishlist from menus and pages?
Shoppers reach their wishlist through the launch points you enable: the header icon, the floating button, or the popup. You can also link to the wishlist from any menu, page, or campaign. This guide shows the link formats and when to use each.
Choose what the link does
| Link target | What the shopper sees | Use it when |
|---|---|---|
#hero-wishlist |
The wishlist popup opens on the current page | Your display mode is a popup window and you want shoppers to stay where they are |
| The wishlist page path | The dedicated wishlist page | Your display mode is a separate page, or you want a stable link for emails and menus |
Both work from navigation menus, footers, announcement bars, and campaign links.
Add the wishlist to a navigation menu
- In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Navigation and open the menu you want to change.
- Click Add menu item and name it, for example, “Wishlist”.
- In the link field, enter #hero-wishlist to open the popup, or your wishlist page path to open the page.
- Click Add and Save menu.
If you use #hero-wishlist , keep the popup display mode on. With the separate page mode, link to the page path instead.
Find your wishlist page path
The wishlist page is served by the app under your store’s app proxy paths:
- Your wishlist page:
/a/wishlist-hero/wishlist - A shared wishlist:
/a/wishlist-hero/wishlist/shared/your_wishlist_hash
Prefix either with your store domain for links outside your menus, for example https://your-store.com/a/wishlist-hero/wishlist . The path is managed by the app and cannot be renamed; see Wishlist page URL for details.
Link from emails and campaigns
The full URL works anywhere: email campaigns, bio links, packaging inserts. Shoppers who are logged in see their list; guests see the list saved in their browser. For a list a shopper can send to someone else, use the share link from Wishlist sharing.
