How does Custom Branding work?

Custom Branding is a single switch under Settings > Custom Branding that removes the "Powered by Wishlist Hero" credit from the app's shopper facing surfaces, so the wishlist experience presents as entirely yours. This page explains what the toggle does, what changes when it is enabled or disabled, and the situations where the app resets it automatically.

Available on paid plans (Silver and above). On the Free plan the Settings hub shows a lock icon and an upgrade button instead of the configure button.

The toggle

The page contains one setting, worded in the admin as "Remove the Powered by Revamp references from app":

  • Click the toggle action button to switch it on or off
  • The change saves immediately - there is no separate save step; the button shows a spinner while the setting is stored, and the page reloads its state when done

The toggle state is stored on your store's settings as the RemovePowerBy  flag, which is published to your storefront with the rest of the app configuration, so the storefront picks it up automatically after saving - no theme changes needed.

Enabled vs disabled

Enabled (references removed) Disabled (default)
"Powered by" credit Hidden from shopper facing surfaces Allowed to render
Who sees branding Only you, in the admin You and your shoppers
Settings hub status Green active icon Paused icon

When enabled, the credit is suppressed on the shopper facing surfaces where the app can render it: the "added to wishlist" notification popup and the wishlist view page. Your wishlist, share links, and reminder emails carry no third party mention.

When disabled (the default for every new store), the credit may appear on those same surfaces, depending on your app version. Note that in recent app versions the credit rendering is turned off at the code level, so some stores see no credit either way - the setting remains the control for it, and enabling it is still the recommended white label posture.

When the app resets it to disabled

The switch is a paid plan feature, and the app enforces that automatically. It flips back to disabled when:

Situation What happens
You downgrade to the Free plan The flag resets to disabled along with the other paid features
Your trial expires and the store moves to Free Same automatic reset
A development store graduates out of the development plan Reset to Free, flag disabled

After any of these resets, the storefront configuration is republished, so the change takes effect on the storefront without action on your side. Upgrading again does not restore the setting - just toggle it back on in Settings > Custom Branding.

Do you need it?

  • Design led brands: turn it on so every pixel of the storefront is yours.
  • Agencies building for clients: include it; the client's store presents as fully white label.
  • Testing the app on Free: the wishlist works fully; the credit and Custom Branding are the main visible difference.
