How do wishlist item quotas work?

Every plan includes a monthly quota of wishlist additions: the number of items shoppers can save across your store in a calendar month. This page explains what counts against the quota, how you are warned before the limit, and exactly what happens when a store reaches it.

What counts toward the quota

The quota counts wishlist additions: each time a shopper saves a product. Per month:

  • Removing an item does not refund the quota
  • Re-adding an item counts again
  • All shoppers on the store share one quota

Your usage sits on the Analytics dashboard as the Wishlist Additions progress bar, which compares this month’s additions with your plan quota.

Warnings before the limit

  • At 80 percent: you get an email with the subject “Warning: Your store is at 80% of the monthly Quota!”, sent once per month
  • At 90 percent: the dashboard progress bar turns orange as a visual cue
  • At 100 percent: you get an “ACTION REQUIRED” email and the bar turns red

What happens at the limit

When the quota is exhausted, the storefront widget pauses: shoppers cannot add new items to wishlists until the quota resets or you upgrade. Everything else keeps working:

  • Existing wishlists stay intact and viewable
  • Shoppers can still move items to the cart
  • Reports, reminders, and sharing continue

The quota resets on the first day of the next month and the widget resumes automatically. Upgrading mid month lifts the limit immediately; see How do I change my plan?

Choosing a headroom

Check the dashboard bar after a few normal months. A store that sits above 80 percent most months should move up a plan: reminders and social sharing only pay off when shoppers can always save.
