Which dynamic variables can I use in email templates?

Wishlist Hero email templates use a small set of dynamic variables that the app fills in at send time. This reference lists every variable per email type and the formatting rules for prices and currencies. Keep this page open while you edit templates.

Reminder emails (price drop and low stock)

Variable Fills with
##wishlist_hero_items## The product grid: image, name, price, and a Buy Now button per item

That one placeholder is all a reminder body needs. Place it where the products should appear and the app renders the cards, one per reminded item, with live catalog data.

Share by email template

Variable Fills with
The sender’s name variable The shopper who is sharing their wishlist
The message variable The personal note the shopper typed
The wishlist link variable The private link to their list

The share editor labels these fields directly under the body, so insertion is a click, not typing. Recipients get the shopper’s name, their note, and a working link into your store.

What the app fills in around the template

These are not placeholders you place; the app applies them automatically:

Element Source
Store name and store link Your Shopify store
Sender name The Sender Name setting
Product images, names, prices Your catalog at send time
Product links Your product pages, tagged with a campaign marker so you can trace reminder traffic in analytics
Buy Now button colors The reminder settings color pickers

Price and currency formatting

Prices inside emails follow your Shopify money with currency in emails format setting. The template variables support the standard Shopify amount forms: plain amounts, amounts with currency, and comma separated decimals. Practically: set your format once in Shopify, and every wishlist email matches your order emails.

Testing and resetting

  • Send test email renders the template with example products so you see the variables filled, not the placeholders
  • Reset email body restores the shipped template if an experiment goes sideways

Template changes take effect on the next scheduled send; nothing needs republishing.
